Water Resistance Reminder

All Watchbrick timepieces are rated at 3ATM, suitable for light daily use only — such as hand-washing or light rain.
Do not wear the watch while showering, swimming, or submerging in water. This is especially important for models with the VK63 quartz chronograph, as they contain a battery-powered module that may be affected by moisture.

Before You Start: Wind Your Automatic Watch

All automatic movements (including NH34, NH35, NH36) require manual winding before first use, or after sitting idle for an extended period.

To wind your watch:

  • Make sure the crown is in the pushed-in position (Position 0).
  • Turn the crown clockwise (away from you) 20-25 times to build up power in the mainspring.
  • You should see the second hand begin to sweep smoothly.

Crown Positions (NH34/NH35/NH36)

  • Position 0 – Pushed in: Manual winding (turn crown clockwise)
  • Position 1 – 1 click:
    • NH34: Set GMT hand
    • NH35/NH36: Set date (and day on NH36)
  • Position 2 – 2 clicks: Set time (second hand stops)

Crown Positions (NH72)

  • Position 0 – Pushed in: Manual winding (turn crown clockwise)

  • Position 1 – 1 click: Not applicable (NH72 has no date or GMT function)

  • Position 2 – 2 clicks: Set time (second hand stops)

Regular daily wear will keep the watch powered — no need to wind it daily.

Do not:

  • Pull out the crown while winding
  • Turn the crown counterclockwise — this does not wind the movement and may cause unnecessary wear

⛓ NH34 – Seiko Automatic GMT Movement

Overview:
The NH34 is an automatic movement featuring a GMT hand that allows you to track a second time zone—perfect for frequent travelers or dual-time wearers.

Crown Positions:

  • Position 0 (pushed in): Manual winding (rotate clockwise 20-25 times)

  • Position 1 (1 click out): Adjust GMT hand (clockwise rotation)

  • Position 2 (2 clicks out): Set the time (hours and minutes; seconds hand stops)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Set the Time
Pull the crown to Position 2. Rotate clockwise or counterclockwise to set the time. The seconds hand will hack (stop).

  2. Set the GMT Hand
Push the crown to Position 1 and rotate clockwise to move the red GMT hand in hourly increments.

  3. Wind the Watch
Push the crown in and rotate clockwise 15–20 times to charge the mainspring.

Important Note:
Do not adjust the GMT hand or time between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as it may interfere with the date-change mechanism (if installed).

⚙️ NH35 – Seiko Automatic Date Movement

Overview:
The NH35 is one of Seiko’s most reliable automatic movements, widely used for modding due to its robustness and ease of maintenance.

Crown Positions:

  • Position 0 (pushed in): Manual winding

  • Position 1 (1 click out): Adjust date

  • Position 2 (2 clicks out): Adjust time

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Set the Time
Pull the crown to Position 2. Rotate to set the hour and minute hands. The second hand stops for precise time setting.

  2. Set the Date
Push to Position 1 and rotate clockwise to advance the date (quickset).

  3. Manual Winding
Push the crown in fully and rotate clockwise 20-25 times to wind the movement.

Warning:
Avoid adjusting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can damage the internal date-change mechanism.

📅 NH36 – Seiko Automatic Day-Date Movement

Overview:
The NH36 is almost identical to the NH35, but includes both day and date complications, making it ideal for everyday functionality.

Crown Positions:

  • Position 0: Winding

  • Position 1:

    • Rotate clockwise to adjust date

    • Rotate counterclockwise to adjust day

  • Position 2: Time setting

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Set the Time
Pull to Position 2 and rotate to set hours and minutes.

  2. Set Day & Date
    Push to Position 1:

    • Rotate clockwise to change date

    • Rotate counterclockwise to change day (English + Spanish or Arabic, depending on version)

  3. Manual Wind
Rotate the crown (pushed in) clockwise to build power reserve.

Tip:
Be sure to set the time to AM or PM correctly before adjusting the day/date, especially after the hands pass 12:00.

⏱ VK63 – Seiko Mecha-Quartz Chronograph Movement

Overview:
The VK63 is a hybrid mecha-quartz movement—powered by a battery, but with a sweeping chronograph hand and mechanical reset. It features a 24-hour subdial, 60-minute timer, and date window.

Crown Positions:

  • Position 0: Normal

  • Position 1: Set date

  • Position 2: Set time

Chronograph Functions:

  • Top Button (A): Start / Stop the chronograph

  • Bottom Button (B): Reset the chronograph hand to 12 o’clock

  • To realign chronograph hands (if misaligned):

    1. Pull crown to Position 2

    2. Press A/B buttons to adjust the hand positions

    3. Push the crown back in to save

Battery Life:
Typically lasts 2–3 years. No winding is required.

Bonus Tip:
The VK63 has a sweeping chronograph second hand, but the main seconds hand remains ticking in one-second intervals (as it's a quartz movement).

NH72 Movement – Usage & Functions

  • Manual Winding:
Turn the crown clockwise (away from you) about 15–20 times to fully wind the watch.
This charges the mainspring and gives you up to 41 hours of power reserve.

  • Automatic Winding:
The watch will wind itself through the natural motion of your wrist. Wearing it regularly keeps it running.

  • Time Setting:
Pull the crown out to the second position to set the time.
The NH72 supports hacking (the second hand stops when the crown is pulled out), allowing precise time setting.

  • No Date Function:
This movement has no date window or quickset date function — only hour, minute, and second hands.

🧭 Final Tips for All Movements

  • Always pull/push the crown gently—avoid applying side force.

  • If your watch is stopped, wind it fully before wearing to ensure smooth operation.

  • For automatic watches (NH34/35/36/72), regular wear keeps the movement powered.

  • Keep watches away from magnets and large temperature swings to preserve accuracy.
